Home loans / Alternative documentation

Alt Doc loans.
Income, explained differently.

An Alt Doc route can consider an alternative set of income evidence where the selected product permits it. It does not mean a loan without income checks.

Explore income evidence

Different evidence. The same need for a clear income picture.

Self-employed borrowers may have income that standard payslips do not capture. An eligible Alt Doc product may specify other records that can be considered. Which records count, how recent they must be and how they are assessed depend on current policy.

Prepare a useful income conversation

Bring the records you already have. A broker or So Money team member can confirm which documents the chosen product accepts.

How you earn

Describe the business structure, income sources and any recent changes that affect the numbers.

What you have

List available financial, tax and banking records. The current product checklist controls what can be used.

What comes next

Explain the property purchase or refinance and the loan commitments you already have.

What Alt Doc does and does not mean

Is an Alt Doc loan a no-doc loan?

No. Alt Doc changes the form of evidence that an eligible product may accept. Income verification and credit assessment still apply.

Which exact documents will So Money accept?

That depends on the selected product, your circumstances and current policy. Bring the records you have and confirm the relevant checklist before lodging.

Does choosing Alt Doc guarantee approval?

No. The application must meet product criteria and individual credit assessment requirements.

Start with your circumstances
